Overview
We are supporting NCIA (NATO) on a critical migration project within their Intelligence Functional Services platform.
This engagement focuses on the execution phase of a complex data migration from INTEL-FS SP1 to SP2. The migration strategy is already defined. This role is responsible for end-to-end delivery, validation, and optimisation within a secure, multinational environment.

Scope of Work
You will take ownership of the migration execution, working alongside internal NATO teams.
• Run dry-run migrations to validate approach and identify issues
• Refine and optimise migration scripts and parameters
• Perform pre-migration backups and validation checks
• Execute the live migration within agreed windows
• Conduct post-migration data validation and reconciliation
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies
• Deliver performance tuning and optimisation post-migration

Deliverables (Milestone-Based)
The engagement is structured across five key deliverables:
• Dry run and script refinement
• Backup and pre-migration validation
• Live migration execution
• Post-migration data validation
• Discrepancy resolution and performance optimisation
All deliverables require formal acceptance and sign-off.

Required Experience
• Proven experience delivering database migrations in complex or secure environments
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with XSLT
• Comfortable working with Linux command line tools
• Experience working within structured, deliverable-based engagements
• Ability to operate effectively in multinational teams
